These Signs

Summary

In this episode, Natchez discusses the five miraculous signs mentioned in Mark 16:17-18 that accompany believers. He explores the historical and modern interpretations of these signs, including casting out demons, speaking in tongues, handling snakes, drinking poison, and healing the sick. The conversation emphasizes the importance of faith, the relevance of these signs in contemporary Christianity, and the call for believers to trust in God's protection and power.

Takeaways

1. The five signs in Mark 16:17-18 hold deep meaning for your journey as a believer—they’re not just abstract ideas, but invitations to see God’s work in your life.

2. Casting out demons? Yeah, it’s still a real thing today, and it might even cross your path if you’re walking boldly in faith.

3. Speaking in tongues can stir up debate, but don’t dismiss it—it’s a powerful gift that could touch your life in ways you least expect.

4. Handling snakes? Don’t worry, it’s not about picking up a rattlesnake to prove a point—it’s more about facing your fears with trust in God.

5. Drinking poison ties into divine protection—think of it as God having your back when life throws something toxic your way.  6. Healing the sick isn’t just for pastors or “super Christians”—it’s a calling that might show up in your own hands as you pray for someone you love.

7. Faith is your foundation, but don’t go testing God just to see what happens—trust Him without needing to push the limits.

8. Miracles aren’t the goal to chase after—they’re bonuses that come when you’re focused on God, not the spotlight.

9. These signs point to the power of your faith in Christ—it’s the real deal, fueling everything you do.

10. You’re called to be kind and share the good news—let your life reflect that love wherever you go.

Natchez Lee

We’re a husband and wife team, with a mission to reveal the divine light within each of us—and shine it in the world. We are cohosts and producers of Be a Light in the Darkness podcast, which explores the ways that we each walk in our ministries of light—the unique calling and ways that we show up in the world, that reflects our God-breathed essence. We are curating a community, Mystic Isle, where spiritual pilgrims and seekers can gather to meditate, learn to be still in the presence of God, and pray and bless each other and the world.

Natchez is a mindfulness, prayer and meditation coach, helping individuals and groups to transform their prayer and meditation experiences to meet face to face with the Creator. His goal is to help people find, deepen, and expand their relationships with humanity and the image of the Creator inside of each human being.

Cindy is a heart resonance coach and soul shepherdess, focusing on transforming life’s transitions into powerful catalysts for spiritual growth. Her focus is on empowering the journey, and weaving life’s cycles and seasons into sacred pilgrimage. Along with her husband, Natchez, she is a mom to a brave little Scottie dog named Deacon (who is also the Mystic Isle community’s ambassador), and Porta(bella), a royal little chihuahua. The two make up their team's power pack, and accompany them on their adventures.
